Outdoor Education

Hurontario’s Outdoor Education Program involves journey and wilderness-based experiences involving adventurous challenges and outdoor activities. We strive to safely educate students from grades 1-12 about the wonders of the outdoors, develop leadership skills, and promote teamwork, in an outdoor, non-classroom environment. Our experienced staff accomplish this through linking our activities to the Ontario curriculum, in our amazing outdoor environment.

What Makes Our Outdoor Education Program Unique?

Located on the islands of the Georgian Bay, our main buildings are surrounded by 300 acres of camp islands and mainland. This privacy gives us the ability to conduct our program without the interruption of cars, cottages, and boats. As a result, we have the unique ability to canoe, kayak, and sail to our nearby island for cookouts, bakeouts, and overnight trips. Our eco-rich environment also makes our biology program very popular, and important in educating students on the importance of environmental ethics,  and living without impact on nature.
